Yp ever been skrewed over?
On recommendation from a pal i thought id tell my story here
starts with me building a track car and spending time and money on a budget that turned into a money pit pmsl
Maxi F1 was supposed to be then even after 3.5K kit was orderd from Finland i got screwed over and didnt happen
then another jem comes along
from a longstanding member of a RS forum i was offered a 2.3 Turbo engine, gold dust, so last year December i offer to buy it and was told he would deliver it start of Jan, I offer deposit and he says no he trusts me pmsl as he is a long standing RS forum member and well known i have no issue trusting him
4 weekends in January i stay in and await him to drop off the engine as he was picking up an acid dipped Pickford Capri in brum 5 mins before each visit i get text saying cancelled
then i offer to go collect he says fine - my father whos had a quadruple bypass spent all this week fixing a small trailer for me to tow the engine back in from Southampton
I get my head down tonight ready to collect and then get a text saying sorry im keeping it to put in my mk2 escort and not a word of sorry ?
I go on the RS forum to air my veiws and the forum gets closed as members arent happy with what the long standing member JakeyVages has done
so all in a spend £1000's prepping for a 2.3 Turbo engine then get screwed
Moral of the story is - dont trust any one on a forum and if you do make sure you do not invest £1000's in that decision

hi kev
totally out of order , if you have agreed a price and the deal has been done , then he should honner it
personally if i was to sell some stuff and someone had agreed a price as far as i am concerned then it's theirs
he has probably been offerd more money for it and sold it on thats normally the case

my plans had changed, so would you do something that would cost you £1,000s in the near future!

Kev i was talking it over with my mechanic who does the work for me as i popped round to make arrangements for tomorrow, and he said i was mad to sell it.....
#12
you were drving half way across the country for other reasons and offerd to drop off a tail gate that you were scrapping
you didnt do it for your love of me pmsl
how do plans change within minutes of you saying cya tomorrow in a text for me to collect engine
your a lier mate simple, you know also yesterday on the phone that you were talking with me about what turbos to buy!
how deceitful can you be
#13
how could you not have known before your freind identified it to you what you were doing
3 months Jakey, its not rocket science
#15

Out of order really....If you've said you'll sell it then its a bit scrotum like to change your mind after so long and this guys spent loads of cash on his project.
I think you should sell it him to redeem yourself now... go on...

ahhhhhh so thats why the RS2000 forum is closed!!! and i get emails about it and pm's and messages on msn.
i can understand why you are pissed off kev but if i were you i wouldnt have bought any parts to prepare for the 2.3 turbo until i had the block sat at my house, you already have a fine 2L N/A engine that you could have built up to fit in the car

Kitchy... Not the point tho is it mate. Kev was under the impression that he HAD an engine, you know yourself how expensive things are, and how you spend money on other things if you save it. Had he waited untill he collected HIS engine, he probbaly wouldn't have had the money to build it due to spending it on other areas. From what I can tell, Mr Vegas is a respected member of various forums, he promised the engine to Kev and then messes him about for 3 months was it? It seems very suspect to me.

So you'd be happy if you were in the same situation then? I doubt it!
Fair enough, the guy changed his mind and decided not to sell,
no money had changed hands and he's entitled to do that.
Still a dirty trick imo though, he must have been having second thoughts about selling it
or he would have delivered it in January as arranged.
Sorry to hear about this Kev, hope you get it sorted mate!

hi kev i dont really want to comment on the situation as i dont really know what has happened and its none of my buisness to be fair all i want to say is chin up and please dont scrap the project it was going to be something different to the norm i was looking forward to seeing it finished and seeing it on track at ford fair this year also youve put a hell of a lot of hard work into it fella to a very high standard would be a shame to throw it all away
#26
until money changes hands then there is no deal done.i can see you might be a bit pissed off but its not really the end of the world. so youve invested tousands in this project and its ruined because the seller changed his mind about selling his engine? is his engine the only one in existance in the world?
#27
I would be pissed off aswell, if the guy said "i might sell it" then "kev" would be out of order here, but seeing how angry he is im guessing this never happened and it was more a case of "its yours mate".
If your not 1000% then dont let someone believe the item is theirs

if he's been promised an engine and has built his car up to take that engine while the other guy hasn't delivered it then it's a bit of a low thing to do
and if he's said one day come and collect it tomorrow and then decides to change his mind the day of collections because his mechanic says he's a fool to let it go hen i think it's even worse

alternativly though, those that say money has not changed hands and so he can't really be accused of fucking him over are also correct
it's not right, but it's not illegal either is it
hope it all works out eventually though as it sounds as if things have got a little heated
