Was out in my mk2 the other night just went for a drive as the weather was nice as such well dry, saw a few other oldskool ish cars out and about - most of them gave me a nod or flashed me but then i saw a big fat ugly bloke in a nice white evo 6, looked over and he proper clocked me, was at the lights ( he was in a differnet lane to me as i was turning right) he the lights changed and he drove past and stuck his middle finger up!! wtf!! cock oh well think he was pissed because more people will turn an eye to a mk2 escort than a evo

damm straight, when i'm out in my 1600e i "own the road" so to speak. 60k mercs get ignored as people stop and watch me go down the road . then they razz past (and bmw drivers) at the first oppertunity and try to cut in as close to my car as poss just cos they didn't get any attention and my 38 year old ford did!

problem with SOME scooby/evo etc high power jap car owners, are they think their cars are the dogs danglies, yeah theyre good but it doesnt make the driver any better than someone else. i know of a few scooby drivers who are totally up themselves cause they think their cars own the roads. Not all are the same, and my mate gets well jealous of the looks i get in the capri

Maybe you have a pre-conceived idea that because you spunk lots of money on an old car, that people are envious of you if they have an equally (or more so) expensive (but inferior) car in your eyes?

Personally, i doubt 95.3% of people could not give two fucks if you drove a 1930's Ford Model T with a tuned up twin Concorde engine in it (only my opinion of course).

If you raced and kicked his arse, they generally HATE that, in fact making people in Evos, Scoobies, E55AMGs, etc really shown up n angry is great fun and makes owning a fast car all worth while, as so many people seem to think their cars are unbeatable just because most standard stuff cant get near em.

most evo owners i speak to are fine, the problem may be that the older evo's are now dropping to the value where a few of the 'chavs' can afford them, it happened to the cosworth & subaru
i'm generely a ford person but people who dislike evo's or subaru's should really have a good look & a drive of them, there both fantastic cars

well, ive recently just bought an evo 6 and i'm fairly sure i haven't changed into one of the stereotypical w***ers. love old school fords. guttet that i ever got rid of my old mk1 escort and nearly bought a newly restored mk1 with a new cossie engine instead of the evo. somebody beat me to it! well chuffed with the mitsubishi though!
