Default think the m3 is going tomorrow

guy came today, loved it.arranged to come back tomorrow with full amount in cash.just as the car was really growing on me-oh well!

anyway if it goes;

options
1/ buy an e36 m3/evo remove interior,fit big brakes,track tyres and enjoy.
2/buy an impreza type r(2 door),fit decent brakes, track tyres and enjoy.
3/buy an evo 7/8,daily runner/track car.
4/buy an m5 e39,daily runner/track car
5/buy a late impreza sti as daily runner/track car
6/buy an r33 skyline gtr as i still havent got one out of my system!

option 1/2 would involve me buying a daily runner which would prob be toyota landcruiser, range rover p38 or maybe 5 series bmw.bringing the total to circa 10k all round.

have to buy a bathroom and kitchen as well.......

decisions,decisions

None of the above!

Make it an investment and buy something worthwhile at a later date!

Jay if I was going to get an E36 M3 track car then I would get one thats already been track prepped or an ex race car mate, thet are STILL used alot very successfully in endurance racing and there should be loads around that will have great and well proven setups and all the right bits

Cheaper and better in my opinion and less effort!

Skybus or a M5.

Skybus has to have at least 600bhp though.

You don't need to spend big amounts on brake conversion for the M3 either, standard floating Evo discs, braided lines, descent fluid & Pagid RS19 yellow pads have been proven to stand up to abuse on track with no fade, pads are about £200 though !

thats a cheap car!its the only car in a certain budget i havent owned but fancy-hear a lot of stories of engines letting go.but do need to get one out of my system.

i like the punchiness of the impreza type r.would imagine great fun round a track

but i like bmw m cars full stop.decent ish evo m3,remove all the heavy interior etc, uprate front brakes as above and some decent tyres and it should make a fun car.

fair point , although what you have mentioned there is 2 different types of car . A kumho challenge spec car with limited mods is a cheap and cost effective racecar, an ex endurance or Britcar/supercar will be 3 or 4 times the money because of the costs of the components used .
good thread this and one i look forward to adding to it on monday
