Whats the best oil? - Duratec V6
Ford recommend using semi synthetic 5W-30 in all of their new cars, and I plan on keeping my ST220 for years to come so want to look after it. Whats the best oil to use? I've had several people tell me 10W40 is the future, and even Noble use it and they have the same engine as my ST (bar some turbos).

5 is better than 10, better flow and protection from cold.
Personally would like 40 if any spirited driving is involved.
I always use 5w40.
Ford don't care what you use, as long as it holds together until warrenty is out, hence 1 litre of oil per 1000 miles is fine, drive off immediately from cold, etc etc.

10K+ Poster!!
ive just spoke to ford about an oil change on mine, a lad on a mondy forum was on about changing the oil in his 220 to a different grade for the winter, mines only the 2.5 not the 3 litre, but it got me thinking, but the guy at ford told me they only use/recommend 5w 30 for all V6's, 2.5 and 3 litre.
