...does it look normal?..What is that bar needed for? (no it doesnst support the guard.

Phil has the car got it's normal ARB on the front ? ? ? Or extra strengthening for the front chassis legs ?

A previous one probably did then, you probably dont have the same sumpguard as when they threw those bits of metal on.
