Default 400bhp+ Cossie RR/Dyno graphs? Post em here.

As title really! Any RR graphs, yours or others, for a YB, with 400bhp+, as ive become facinated by them, and they always great for proving a point to the SR20 bummers that either their beloved engines suck, or their tuners do, im not sure

Esp if anyones got any running a standard engine with just bolt-ons thatd be mint too.

As someone might find it interesting, this is a SR20 with 100% stock engine running a GT3071R at 2bar. Is it me or is it torqueless and has a narrow high rpm powerband compared to a YB of the same power?

Depends which way you look at it, on one hand its got less torque than a 400bhp cossie, but on the other hand its got more power than a 340lbft cossie.

Makes good power from 5-7K, which is probably enough to still be on the boil after a gearchange so im sure the car is quick, but I would imagine it would feel very dissapointing when put next to a 400bhp cossie in terms of the midrange torque that is missing.

this is from my old saff, from memory the red line was first run ( 424bhp/388lb/ft ) and the blue the second ( a bit lower ).

spec was a UT T38, pretty much standard bottom end ( just pocketed standard pistons the were slightly machined to give 7.5:1) cams weren't really suited to the turbo though, would be more torquey and move the power band lower down with better spec'd ones i suppose.
peaked 2.1bar and held 1.7bar.

dunno if it helps or hinders your argument though lol...but not bad power for about 25psi though.

Steve - in my far less than expertopinion, the 200sx one looks like the kind of delivery i'd expect from an NA race engine... narrow power band pretty high up the revs, dropping sharply.

wouldn't think it's nice to drive ont he road.

Less than 10% difference in torque, and only 1.5% difference in power.

You see that much variation just running on two different sets of rollers, and the power band is almost identical.

How long has your car been a 4wd?

Or did they just select that option to bump up the transmission losses?

The 4wd bit only add on extra labels to each power point.

means we can swap between power, ACT, boost etc etc but display them one at a time for a clearer graph.

Steve, I have a feeling its down the way it was run on the Dyno.

We have an SR20 on the dyno today that has just done 430bhp at the wheels, almost 510bhp estimated Flywheel power and has 2.0 bar of boost by 4250rpm.

Christian, the fact it was in 3rd gear would have tended to give it less time for the run to happen as well I should think?

Which in turn means less time for the turbo to spool, and hence less torque lower down.

Ive seen that happen on a dyno before where the car is allowed to spool the rollers too quickly.

TBH saying "SR20" is unfair, as IIRC Pulsar SR20s are miles better.

Either way, ignoring the SR20 thing, I love seeing 400bhp+ RR/Dyno graphs for Cossies, always interesting

Because I cant afford one how id like it, pure and simple.

I like Cossies more than anything, but id want one similar (but with full 500 kit and decent width wheels) to my old one which I never shouldve got rid of, and I simply cant afford one. Dont want a Saff, and lower spec ones would bore me.

Sucks really, but hey.

Chip-3Door

think it was too lean Chip.

that graph is not right anyway as the temp prob was in the wrong place iirc what Mark said.

something to do with the temp anyway.

Only ever wanted a Skyline when I liked drag racing, as they can properly launch as well as have silly power.
And literally the only 4wd car to have a strong enough transmission to not break all the time with the power id like.

Apart from that ive never been that fussed about em.

They sound awesome and got great engines, hell, my Chaser has a Skyline engine, but ive never been that fussed about em.
