Default OMEX Rev Limiter With Launch Control On My Escos

Has anyone ever fitted one of these to an escos?

http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/produc...pcode=OMERLCLC

anyone had any experience with them good or bad, Pros and Cons ect how hard they are to fit, what one would i want out of the 2 for sale in the link?

My cars running P8, Pectel board, ALS, WI, and Stu's Twin ignition amp coil pack if it makes any diffrence?

thanks for your help

Ben

They take about 5 minutes to fit. A very basic and crude system.
As said if you want the real deal, the likes of Autronic is the way to go

Oh i forgot the ground for the actual unit as well. So yer 5 minutes to fit... another 15 to tidy up the wiring and route it nicely

Right just getting back to what i said about when i fitted the Stack dash it was only reading half the Cylinders I.E. one ignition amp runs 2 cylinders and the other runs the other 2

i just had a look on Burtons website

on the single type the code number is OMEXRLL

and it says

Other Info: FOR COIL PACK TYPE IGNITIONS, USE TWIN COIL UNIT OMEX RLLT

on the OMEX RLLT it says

Other Info: SUITS TWIN COIL DISTRIBUTORLESS SYSTEMS

so what one would you go for?

Hi Radders

if you take a look at keith cowie in his R32 Skyline you will see at the 58th second he is using the launch controll to keep the revs to whatever it is he has his rpm set to before lifting the clucth and fucking off

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=jscgqI0A_Wc

I know mine will be nothing like that but you get the gen idea

Gearbox is a Barra full straight cut and the diffs are Quaife, thick wall casing R&B plate ect wont be wanting to do this when i have the new engine but while its only got 330ish Hp thought why not have a go

no Radders i wouldn’t mate as i said im only doing it as my cars over engineered for what power i have and you can bet your bottom dolla i will still break something

Found this on there site

The unit is suitable for most 2, 4, 6, or 8 cylinder single coil engines that use points, electronic, or ECU ignition. The twin coil version is designed for use on 4 cylinder twin coil (DIS) engines.
again is my car a 4 cylinder twin coil now i have the coil pack on?

Also the instructions lok pretty simple

http://www.omextechnology.co.uk/Revl...ads/RLCLCT.PDF

If my car does need the Twin coil version then from the instructions im pretty sure i could do most of it myself

I am interested in this as well Ben, as my car will still be running EEC IV hopefully with around 400ish BHP, so obviously can't use Stu's LC package ..... If you are on P8 why not see if MSD can adapt thier LC programme to run on P8?

Hi Will,

i originally wanted stu to custom map my car with the als ect but he doesn’t do P8 using the pectel baby board he uses his own software but unfortunately i had already bought the pectel and it would have meant i would have had to get rid of the P8 and got an L8 aswell ect

must be someone on this site that knows how this all works maybe someone tomorrow will be able to shed some light on the subject as i suppose a lot of people arnt on, on Sunday nights but once back to work the skivers may be able to educate us

This is basically a cruder version of what me and my mate were playing with, in that it can only miss sparks and not do ignition retard as well to really bring the boost up.

You set an RPM you want it to hold you at, you nail the throttle, then as you pull away once the car "hooks up" you let go of the throttle and you get your power back.

If you are on coilpack it has 2 signals to interupt,so yes you need the twin coil setup, where as if you are on a group a coil it has one, but the theory is still the same.

Dead easy to fit, of fairly limited use though and still requires practice to get the timing right for when you let go of the button, and to decide on the optimum RPM.

As a side effect, it probably pops and bangs a bit.

Just out of interest what other options are available for this ? If you were using a level 8 ecu....just need an extra bit for the launch control, the omex sounds like it would work quite well....
