Default Borg Warner turbos

I presume nobody has used em here yet?

They getting used loads in the USA now, and seen a few being used on Supras here, but nothing else.

Strong as fuck, bit cheaper than Garretts, and spool up much faster, and stay really efficient at mega boost too, which is ideal for Cossies.
When I say efficient, i REALLY mean it too, over 70% efficency at 3bar boost, even on the small sub-500bhp turbos.

As they not got any bullshit BB cores they can be fixed easy too.

Seen dyno sheets showing their 1000bhp turbo, fitted with a larger turbine A/R, spools up just as fast as a 700bhp Garrett GT4088, but gives 100bhp more at the same boost with no other mods.

They bought out KKK and Schwitzer Turbos (or merged with them, or something) and have now decided to take on Garrett in the aftermarket turbo scene it seems, and TBH their turbos seems to piss all over anything all the other companies have to offer.

Also do a lot of standard stuff too, the standard 997 turbo ones are Borg Warners for example.

Yeah, they come as standard on them, but variable geometry versions.
The one I drove had bigger but still VGT ones.

Here is an S200 versus a GT30 (similar sizes)

Heres is a 700bhp GT4088R versus a 1000bhp Borg Warner S374 comparison...

"slight" size difference...

6inch inlet so the big K+Ns we mostly all use on Cossies with the alloy trumpet bolts straight to the turbo inlet

Like I said, they took over KKK, who made the VW/Audi/Porker turbos, so some of them use em.

BUT they have no real resembelance to the aftermarket flashy big boost big power turbos im talking about, they just re-badged KKK ones, so the the VAG boys wont know fuck all really.
They can prob tell you how to leather trim them or hide the pipes going to them or smooth it all tho.

BorgWarner Turbo Systems is a division of the globally active automotive supplier BorgWarner, Inc.
Since being formed when the well-known turbocharger producers 3K and Schwitzer merged, BorgWarner Turbo Systems has drawn upon a long tradition of advances in turbocharging technology.

All companies make mega size turbos for petrol and diesels.

But BW, like Garrett etc, are doing specific turbos for aftermarket applications too...

That S200 looks from the graph on their site like it would surge on a cossie.

2 bar of boost at 3500rpm on a YB is what? sub 300bhp? Cause the surgeline at that boost is at about 330bhp and below.

Easily mapped round if you dont mind reigning the boost in, but most cossie owners and tuners seem to like stupidly massive midrange spikes, and that turbo doesnt seem to lend itself well to that.

Ideal for jap motors like Evo's though, where you dont ever typically have a situation of massive boost without big power.

Shame about the physical size of it, as otherwise that would have been ideal for my calibra, but there just isnt enough space for one of those I suspect.

Are they on a T3 flange?
What outlet dimensions are they?

(apologies if its on the site, I only had a quick flick through and could only see dimensions right across the hotside, not showing the actual fitting sizes)

Ah, just found on one of their retailer sites it gives you a choice between T3 or MHI manifold flange, so that certainly sounds promising.

The S200? Looks small to me? Well, the usual size for that power output.

The pic I put up is a GT40 and the S374.

and yes, they use the usual T3/4/6 flanges and a variety of outlets too, lots of a/r and wheel choices, more than Garrett ever offer, and yeah, its all on that bullseye power website link...

Yeah the S200, Ive not got enough room for the compressor housing without getting a new manifold made sadly, as my turbo sits very close to the block (an also very close to the front of the car for that matter, so wouldnt even be easy on a new manifold) due to the gay tranvserse layout, lol.

Its the 7" compressor that I dont think Ive got room for, i'll have a measure.

Could be an interesting route to go down if it will fit.

the s500 looks weird...the engine has to be producing over 700 bhp at 2 bar or it will surge....

doesnt suit a cossie at all...

edited to say I have looked at the s200 ones and they look quite good against a GT30.

Why the FUCK would you be using a 1500odd bhp turbo on a Cossie engine?
Fucking right it wont suit it

TBH a Cossie at "1500bhp" spec (whatever that is ) might be producing over 700bhp at 2bar considering the size of the turbo, what makes you think it wont, considering the boost its taken to get other 700bhp+ Cossie engines using MUCH smaller turbos?

Simple fact is the smaller the engine, the more likely it is to surge with a certain size turbo, and your talking about (for some reason ) a 1500bhp T6 framed turbo that wouldnt even fit in the enginebay, on a 2litre.
