Default Damn race regulations!

Loads of you made a fuss about Andy G's Focus not being allowed to do Time Attack because of it being space framed etc, which is a shame as it couldve been a Ford Time Attack champ, but rules is rules i guess.

But its not only Time Attack! Check this quote from Liam Doran, ie the legendary Pat Dorans son...

He loves drifting and I said...

I can think of much worse dads to have mate!

Im just praying for a bit of your dads taste to rub off on you now and you build a monster anti-lagged YB powered drifter
and he replied...

The problem is mate I already have one, but shes spaceframed!!!

Its a S1600 MK7 Fiesta, same as Dads but its RWD.

Its got a YB engine with 450-500bhp, anti-lag, Launch control, etc and 5-spd Sequential

Its not legal for drifting otherwise she would be playin now!!!
FUCK SAKE

Every time a Ford looks like it could do mint and look amazing doing it, its not legal as its just tooo mental

So he got an S13 instead

Thats totally bollocks!

Was a joke the other year too when Andy G and Chris D were told that they were no longer allowed to race the Focus and the Fiesta in the Ford Saloon Champ but we all know who had the last laughs there!

Would be awesome to see it in time attack!

I may be wrong, but i think it has something to do with the cars having to remain (to a degree) as the manufacturer intended, it's suposed to be a cost cutting excersise, but in reallity some of the cars (especially in time attack) cost more than AndyG's did to do.

Its a shame but also kind of right IMO. I'm someone who personally hates anyone even using race fuel to get times or top speeds etc as a road car should be a road car but thats just my opinion. Maybe they should have a 'specials' group for cars like that. I thought the norris evo was space framed for some reason...

Sure it has something to with the fact the manufacturer has to have built so many production cars that are the same or have built at least one for production use maybe. Don't hold me to that though but am sure it's something along those lines!

It could be,no sure about time attack but pretty much positive that is the case for the Ford Saloon Championship which is a shame. They should just introduce a category for these knid of cars cause everyone wants to see them in action!

Its fair and should be banned IMO, im not disputing that at all, would be totally gay if the series was just full of spaceframed race cars.

Its just a shame its affects the only chances of modified Fords winning anything decent

Because its not spaceframe at all.

Says chassis mods can be allowed at their discression, but need to be approved beforehand.

Not a spaceframe race car is it, its just a old Celica GT4 underneath, not exactly a big deal.
There used to be that Cossie powered Pug 206 too.
