where can i find my idle control valve, its an escort rs turbo mk4?

yeah its an mfi head. the car is idling too high (around 2000rpm) and now its having problems around 5000rpm when giving a bit, the power seems to die out and won't progress past 5000rpm in 3rd gear, if you persist with your foot down the engine doesn't like it and makes strange noises, shift into 4th and it like there is still no power. thinking this may be a misfire, new plugs maybe?

Those strange noises could be det. I'd take it to MSD seeing that you're in Blackpool and get the fueling checked.

If its MFi, there is a mixture screw on the metering head, to the left of where your airbox/cone filter is.
Needs an Allen key to adjust it, probably not reccomended without a proper set up however, as you will end up causing it to run lean/rich, which isnt good.
Take it to a tuner for a rolling road set up, usually about £60 or so
