If you can afford it go for a Makita, the best without a doubt.

I have the Snap-On 18 volt 1/2" and the 12 volt 3/8" Both are top pieces of kit, the 1/2" one is very powerful and will break bolts if your not careful.

so, sealey is out.

Makita does not have the torque range, or I just haven't looked long enough.
Dewalt has the torque range.

Snap on spec is high, but the retail price is Ł500, ow.

thanks everyone, I'll try to negotiate with some sales guys, see if theres any discount out there.

the driver use will be for pit lane.
quick wheel changes.
suspension changes,
axle nut on/off.
so up to 32mm sockets used.

kenny.

If the Dewalt is up to spec you won't go far wrong.

Ive the got the sealey 19.2 volt one and it's the nuts! it easily undoes rusted on range rover wheel nuts that are torqued on at 140nm, i paid around Ł220 for it! there is 3 different guns in the range, i bought the most powerfull one, the new models are 24v so have more kick!!
all depends on what you want to pay, my mate has the big snap on one which is the daddy but at Ł500, it should be! i wouldn't buy the big snap on one as i already have a big 1/2" air gun and 3/8 air gun, i wanted a battery one as i was getting the arse with tghe air line always in the way. if i didn't have air guns, i would have bought the dadsdy snap on one though!

thanks again for such good feedback. so far I've found,

Dewalt 059K2H for Ł221,

IR W360 for Ł265

will try to get a good quote from the local Snap-on man tomorrow.

The slightly lighter (800g) weight of the W360 over the Snap-on CT4850 is an important factor, oh and the price.
