OK..
DaBoy12s
1. Don't panic, worry etc - we can sort this out with the desired outcome
2. Contact Martin (Reyland) - They have an excellent reputation within Ford communities and if prepared to get involved with the repair should be considered.
3. Alternatively, find a garage that you wish to handle the repair of your car
4. Speak to the chosen repairer in connection with the parts & explain that you have found a supply source to avoid a repeat of this situation
5. Get me an estimate from the chosen source - this can be faxed & once received we will organise your Insurer in relation to appointing an MIMA qualified independent engineer (assuming this hasnt been done already)
6. Engineer will contact you to make an appointment within 3 working days of being instructed - will view the car & you can explain the parts situation etc to him, along with the fact that you want the car at all costs & would entertain a 'cash in lieu' repair payment.
7. Engineer reports back to Insurer with his expert recommendation or options.
8. Insurer authorises repair/makes cash in lieu payment/pays for total loss
Martin (Reyland)
If Daboys12 wants to use you for the repair, would you be happy to take on this repair?

1. Will call Insurer as soon as Daboys12 lets me know how he wishes to proceed & organises an estimate.
2. Will maintain a vigil & negotiate with all parties (esp Insurer) to ensure that we get the desired result for Daboys12
There are numerous options, most of which have been mentioned within this thread - which is a credit to the PF community, who have rallied to help their compadre - top work to you all
Insurers usually prefer to handle claims directly to expedite the claim process and this is usually very effective, but the moral of the story is very much that if things arent going as planned, you're unsure or simply need some advice - DO NOT BE SHY, call us, we're here to help.
Kind regards
Tony

Hi Martin,
Many thanks for your involvement - glad Daboys12 has opted for you.
Once the estimate is processed on friday, can you fax me a copy on 01277 263773.
As I'll then be able to use this to appoint an engineer & obtain authority.
Kind regards
Tony
