is this one of the orginal design's? or the newer Wedge blank?

Did you send it back to Cosworth this time?

4WD billet type purchased from PJ Motorsport at the end of last year. Failed after less than 6 months (250 miles).

Ive now got another Billet type unit installed, which Cosworth assured me would be ok..............We will see.

So same design as your 1st one that failed.

Andy,
could you do everyone a favour, and give Cosworth a call, and tell then your've had 2 failures.
And you might even get 2 new one out of them for your trouble's, thats the least they should do.

The newer type come out may 2008, but Cosworth started to wedge the plug just after Andy started this post.

This pump came out of my 1200 mile engine (that had dropped a valve so the engine was doomed anyway ), it's only cracked along the bottom so looks like the wedge design has only half fixed the problem that their first batch had:

8th May 2008, a few days before you got your one looking back at page 5 of this post! Has yours been OK? I had noticed that I was getting a slight tapping noise at idle (sounded like a lifter was going) when the oil was hot a few days before my valve dropped, but I put this down to the oil itself as it went away when it cooled down abit, was going to change the oil to see if it was that but I didn't get a chance to and by what I've found it wouldn't have made any difference anyway.

The pump is what brought my rebuild to a stop, But since i got the 1st one and heard of issue's i waited for a new design one, but since then i have not got the car back together yet, so my pumps still in the box.

I'm going to take this pump to Cosworth and see what they have to say, I may just use a hgh pressure pinto pump now as i have oil squirters anyway. Still a major pain in the arse though!

I think this is the latest cosworth design of the pump i have, not heard anything about them other than they are cast now rather than billet.
