Council will probably claim 'force majeur' unless someone has recently done some faulty work which is traceable or not done the required maintenance.

youd think some would have managed to stop unless everyone was racing away from the lights with their eyes shut

If a bird was involved then it was everyone elses fault

if it was a few cars it can't really be 50/50

more likely noone will be able to claim of anyone else, unless you may be able to claim if someone then rear ended you i supose

i think unless you can blame the council for the lights then your insurance will take the hit as you could be concidered to have not have been paying full attention, you pull away from the lights but so does everyone else but no one notices anyone else moving.... . unless you can claim against someone that rear ended you
