In a turbo engine, surely it would always happen on the way down? (unless it's a high revving 1)

They snap/bend with torque, its rev's what send them the other way.

My Evo did the exact same and head was untouched.

However, my mates civic, 9500rpm rod failure. That heads been damaged slightly

On an N/A engine they can break on the way down too, as they tend to stretch at the beginning of the intake stroke.

So its typically on the way down in both cases mate, they are NEVER under very much strain on the way up, as PCP's are highest ATDC

you dont like doing things by 1/2 do you martin?!

you cant just crash a car, you have to roll it several times and nearly kill the passenger

you cant just have a blow out, you have to take out 1/2 the car with it

you cant just break down, you have to snapp the fooking crank

you cant just build a quick escort

need i go on?! lol!

you still do metro stuff martin? dont anyone laugh, but my mums got a maroon 4 door 1.1 jobbie on an N plate she uses to run about in and keeps mentioning the k series conversions after i jokingly sugested it when she got it. do you do kits? like mounts and what not? if so how much?

the underbody at the back and the boot floor are quite different to allow space for the rear diff etc. , it would be a fair mission to convert a 2wd shell from what I've looked at.

Well yes, it would snap after the crank has passed TDC, but the piston would still be traveling upwards into the head.

Put it this way, every n/a or over rev i've seen has done the head.

And the turbo's do the block and don't touch the head.
