right ok lets just establish what you have first because that above is abit vague.
You dont need to download any programmes to find out the basics of your pc.
Click start bar, click on "run" and type in "dxdiag" into the box and hit enter, wait about 10seconds for it to fully load, click the "display" tab and get me a screenshot of that

From what you give me i cant find any info on google but it says socket 462 which is very very old, and this is going to limit what type of graphics card you can buy.

yeah it is old mate, socket 462 is years old, processor wise you "should" be ok, but im just trying to establish what connections your pc has for graphics cards if any.
I think it would actually be easier if you could take the side off your case and take a picture of it for me showing the inside, or if you look yourself you can see something like this
http://www.si87.com/Products/Videoca...pci-or-isa.jpg
Newer pc's have PCI-Express which is like the newest connection for graphics card, but your pc isnt going to have that, it will most likely be pci and or agp, hopefully you'll have a agp slot in there and then all you need to do is buy a agp graphics card, ill show you what to get but lets just work out what connection you have first

Well if its white in colour like the pic above then yes its pci
You 100% sure you cant see a black or dark coloured slot the same length as the white one except its off set to the white one, as seen in the pic.
If you only have pci your screwed mate im afraid, nobody sells pci graphics cards anymore as the technology is so old its agp and pci-express nowadays.
Thats the reason i got this pc im on now 2 years ago as my old pc only had pci connections and i got annoyed that i couldnt upgrade it so i thought fck it lets buy a new one

Whats going on there, that red card thats sat next to that blue slot looks like a graphics card to me
I need to be there to see myself really.
I think its best if you take it into pcworld to the "Tech guys" section and then just say what graphics card i put in this.
Dont buy anything from them though, their a rip off for pc parts

Actually that red card, look at the back of the pc, whats going into this? if its the monitor then its a graphics card.
If it is then your display driver isnt installed because on your screenshot above its telling us you have no graphics card in there

yeah it is plugged into the monitor!!!!!so i need to do what about this?help????what type of plug is this?pci?actually barring the colour it looks more like the agp in the picture, also says 128mb on it,then on the black chip bits says elixir and the silver heat sink says hi8,mean anything?there are numbers on the black chip bits, are they important?

well this is good news because it sounds like you maybe have an agp slot.
Since your screenshot says the graphics card isnt detected (see it says "na" all the way down AND it says please install driver) tells me your drivers are not installed, but the fact you have a display and your on the pc right now tells me that the graphics card is infact working so thats good.
Im still sticking to what i said above though, your best bet is to take the case(thats all they need) to pcworld and just ask what you need, i dont know 100% without seeing it in person but it sounds/looks like AGP so thats good but rather than buy an AGP graphics card unpackage it and find out its the wrong type and you cant get a refund on graphics cards once there out of the anti static packing, so you need to be sure what your buying will work
