Default Melted plug ?

Fook ive melted a plug tip in my rs turbo what damage could it of done if any ?

Coudl well of done a piston too mate, I done a plug in my xe nova, it still ran ok with a new set so I left it, when I took the head off there was one lo comp piston

Amazing how well it still went and i still ran a 13.05 1/4 with it like it

What plugs are you using ? you may of just done a plug

Compression test it before u put a new set in i'd say.

they are a very hot plug those pp8s, i lost a yb due to them.....

bcr8es iirc is what I run.

Standard RS Turbo plug iirc

A mate has used them without any problems @ 400hp on a LET

did 3ish on my saff years ago at a speed indicated 150mph having a do with a camero, drove 25 mile home and changed, all was good lol lucky as!!

Just shows how shite these cosworth pp8s plugs are dont it if they cant even handle a rs turbo running 16 psi

There has gott be a problem somewhere for it to melt a plug, faulty injector maybe?

Sounds like you have got detonation issues mate.

Det explosion is massive, no plug or piston in the world will stand up to heavy detonation.

You may well get away with just new plugs, but get it looked at before you drive it/hard again.

May I suggest the fuel pump wiring?

Those plugs do melt, but fueling is usually slightly lean (or det is present)


your need to do a leak down tst and comp test to check for damage.
