Default flashed by a gatso.anyway out that works?

basically got flashed on sunday morning 07.48 for doing 48 in a 40. got the letter this morning. place called langsett near sheffield. i don't recall seeing a 40 sign but i am going back up tomorrow to check.
anyway out that actually works?

do nothing - worked for me, I binned an NIP for doing 79 in a 50 and heard nothing after 6 months

you could try removing all the '40' speed signs then take photos saying it wasnt signposted. although technically if its not sign posted its a 30 unless stated otherwise so that wouldnt work.

if i do ignore it,will they send another out? i now they only have 6 weeks or something to fine me.is that right?

There are 'ways out'. Mainly due to errors with how, or why the NIP was issued. But unless you're willing to cough up big time for a fancy lawyer, it's going to be cheaper to just cop for it.

To do nothing is not a good idea.

The system is set up to make it very costly to go to court to challenge it. If you kick up any fuss about the NIP it goes to court and you run the risk of a much larger fine.

IMHO unless you were doing a speed which would get you banned it's just not in your interest to challenge it.

That's only true on roads with a system of road lighting.

The offence times out after 6 months if proceedings haven't been implemented by then - and that can be a VERY long time to avoid opening the door to anyone in case they are cops!
