There are 'ways out'. Mainly due to errors with how, or why the NIP was issued. But unless you're willing to cough up big time for a fancy lawyer, it's going to be cheaper to just cop for it.
To do nothing is not a good idea.
The system is set up to make it very costly to go to court to challenge it. If you kick up any fuss about the NIP it goes to court and you run the risk of a much larger fine.
IMHO unless you were doing a speed which would get you banned it's just not in your interest to challenge it.
