Depends how much Lee values the delightful company of an impeccabley presented attractive young lady who knows nothing about the difficulties in delivering adequete fuel from a set of small injectors with the reduction in induction stroke timebase as rpm increases, versus learning everything there is to know on the subject from one of the best there is, I reckon your chances are fair to middling, but Lee's prioritys for a good night out might be slightly different to mine that I based that on

Is that cause:
a) the conversation may be a little "busman's holiday"
b) you think I would eat too much
c) looking at me puts you off your food

or a combination of the 3?

Well... if it's anything to go by the meal we had at 'the bear' we sat there for 2 hours, and barely touched our food cos we were too busy gassing... the waitress thought we were mental!

Theres only one REAL Gordon Ramsay mate. His first restaraunt... the original and still the best by a MILE! Still the flagship despite being his smallest place.

Gordon Ramsay, Hospital road.

http://www.gordonramsay.com/royalhos.../menuprestige/

Thats the Prestige menu I was talking about, just amazing

and if you don't like any of the courses or have allergies or can't have certain foods on religious grounds then they will whip you something equally special on the spot.

The service is stunning.

Seriously - Sam would be well pleased - every time I look to go to these proper restaurants there is like a 2 or 3 month waiting list espically for a Friday or Saturday....

as I've changed our plans as well!

SEE YOU THERE!!!

Maria needed a bit of cheering up and she REALLY is sooo special and so I needed to up the ante...

So yesterday at 6ish I changed the table. We now eat at Gordon Ramsays on the 13th... and have booked a lovely hotel in London that night.... then we get the Eurostar in the morning to Paris for lunch and dinner

I would LOVE to have made it a surprise for her but I don't know her boss to book her a day off and I don't know where she keeps her passport.... YET

Really excited

depends on when you wanna go. You can normally book a calender month in advance. Mid week it helps if you wanna go for first sitting at 7pm

The 9pm sitting is harder to get.....

Weekends are harder still

Claridges and his other places are no bother. Can get in fairly easily whenever I find.

Let me know if anyone wants help. I can't promise but I will try...

I took my fiancee to Gordon Ramsey at The London in New York last November and it was fantastic. Some of the best food i've eaten and the best service by a mile ( Jean Pierre Baptiste himself was the Maitre'd )

Theres nothing quite like dining in a good restaurant, even when you dont really have a pot to piss in like me its a nice treat every once in a while

Its not the amount of money spent people, it’s the thought and effort that counts, a picnic handmade by you, with food that you know is her favourite at a place that is scenic and/or special (maybe not outdoors in February )
some handpicked daffodils from your garden tied with a piece of ribbon you got from Tesco
Even the cliché candlit bubble bath ran for when she arrives home from work

Yes trips to Paris or spa breaks or a meal out with a new frock are all nice, but its not monetary things than count (or at least not to the likes of girls like Maria and I, some gold diggers ‘I am high maintenance you know’ ) it’s the person that counts not what they give you.

Still think Ramsey is wrong for serving foie gras

Needless to say i was er... a little... ok a LOT gobsmacked when you told me.... er... didnt really know what to say! I just blushed!

But like Zo has said.... it's the thought and the care that Lee has put into making me smile...... not what it is or where it is....... I just feel very very lucky right now.
