Default Servicing my car

My car i use for work has started to sound alot more like a diesel and louder when ticking over etc. Also the MPG has dropped quite a bit.
I didnt think anything of it until i checked and it is well past its service date.

So i just wanted to know when i get it serviced would it make it any quieter or improve the mpg?
Its a 04 plate diesel mondeo.
Cheers

Yes it would Dan!

Your oil is old and so thin... hence more mechanical noise!

Fuel Filters on diesel affect mpg badly too... so change that too.
