Default Buying a Saff...

Just looking for some info on what to look for/at on a saff(2wd)

Date stamps on wings etc etc?

Any help much appreciated

dont think saphs have date stamps, only 3dr's did.

pretty sure saph still have a ford logo stamped on them though.

check for rust, around arches chassis legs, inner wings, roof, doors etc

Its more condition condition condition than anything, whats your budget???? to get a good car you've got to be looking at Ł4k plus tbh.... remember these cars are knocking on the door rapidly to being 20 years old and they will have seen some paint etc in the past. I've had 3 2wd Saffs over the last 7 years and each time it's getting harder to find a decent 1...... 1st time round whenI was looking (2001) you'd see 6 or so in the autotrader each week, last year you were lucky to see 1...

Well once you have found a decent one don't sell it then you won't have to worry about finding another lol

Wont be going for a cheap banger,want a decent one which i know may take a bit of looking around.

look no further and save all the wasted trips looking at rubbish,I have a superb low miles 1992 Sapphire 4wd in moondust silver which Iam just preparing ready for sale,totally standard and unmolested,its a stunner

as long as you have the money the right car will be out there for you.

i'd budget at least 5-6k to get a really good saff.

the amount of people that think they can get a good saff for 3k is unbelievable!

Yes saphs are date stamped panels so have a look and they wil be there if not ask why not !!!

Good luck tho and as mentioned there is always the car availiable if you have the cash ...........3k saph will cost more than that to keep fixing when it constantly lets you down
