Default Cossie groups in rallying and cages

..sorry i have many questions coming..i am very interested in learning about these rally cars.

...so cages...i have a bolt in one....it goes to the rear turrets and front turrents and also a bar from the turret down to the leg behind the dash..infact it looks most complicated with welded brackets for the bolts to attach and welded raised boxes on the floor to bolt the cage to.....ok this is a privateer cheapo cage..but still FIA approved...but looking at it all the welding done surely it would have been easier to weld a cage in than all this fucking about..........So bolt in cages were obviously not used on works cars..but what about grp n cars and grp a did people run the bolt in cages in those classes?..Is bolt in version purely a privateerers cage of choice..as said it looks like the welded one would be less complicated to install ..but of course better than bolt in.....I was told that the very early Saffs came with bolt in..but what classes?

To add how much safer is a weld in job and what are the bolt in weaknesses when say clipping a curb rolling over into a tree?

Martin in your opinion looking at what you can of my cage would this have saved you in your gumball crash?

Who knows, The security of the cage mounts play a big part too.

I can tell you how fast we were travelling at if you want to recreate the accident and test the cage yourself..

How much did you pay for the car? I do know of a similar car that was used for two tarmac events and has been sitting around ever since, It was for sale...
