Was just thinking, it would make sense if the Norris Designs Engine Dyno became the "reference" dyno facility for everybody south of Watford to use - especially us PassionFord peeps.........That way all comparisons would be valid.

Also, having been there a couple of times, i'ts obvious that i'ts a fantastic virtually no expence spared facility that Simon Norris and friends have built.

North of Watford we've got PJ Motorsport and SCS (Harvey).....plus a few others I am shure.

It was done for a friend- Just dont ask him unless you want to pay Jap
prices

I would like to take this oportunity to remind people that this was ONLY a
2 litre engine with a GT30/40 hybrid turbo.
And so will NOT have as much torque as say a 2.2/2.3 on a bigger turbo .

Simon, do you supply high speed valves for boost control to go with the S8 unit?
As the valve is the only needed part for boost control and not the electronic box from Greddy or the like..

ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE DEPENDS ON THE SIZE OF YOUR WALLET ME THINKS FOR OVER 700 BHP YOUD HAVE TO HAVE A VERY BIG WALLET

Surely not that much bigger than for 600 really... just moving the power up higher in the rev range with a bigger harder hitting Turbo. Producing BIG figures on a dyno isn't exactly rocket science... big Turbo, head that flows alot of air, lairy cams, big inlet and exhaust manifold.. job done!

BUT Dyno figs are just one thing, Nicks engine will clearly drive sweeet and work very well as it produces a nice spread of power not just a big peak figure

oh and it sounds like its going to last as well, coz thats the other tricky thing

Lee,
I am sure your engine would have done more power if you let Harvey up the
boost a bit !

nah... just needed to rev her harder! we only went to 7500rpm remember and the power was still going up and up!!!

I lost my bottle though

Don't worry... I'm happy enough, don't forget I had a very flat torque curve as well and made over 20bhp MORE than this engine on pump fuel

BUT BUT BUT... IF Sean and Martin BLOW me away on track the engine will come out for 1 or 2 tweaks and then REALLY get wound up on the Dyno again... BIG REVS!

It will stay on SECS though mate

Glenn,

I've asked the same question a couple of times, without receiving answers/details.

I think it would be fair to say the the compression ratio used for Nick's YB engine and other Norris Designs big power engines is one of the more unconventinel aspects of the design

I.E. most pro engines builders would say "you dont wanna build a big power YB engine like that - it will never work" lol.
