Well done Nick, Knew it would crack 600.
You have to beat Simons 200.3 now, then you can also take the micky.
Great result

cozzybrom, You are quite right but I was not given the full specification.
All I know is that they wanted reasonable reliability and so safe limits were
made and kept to.
I wanted 2.5 bar boost but was politely told to go F*CK myself or such like words !

Cant wait to see your engine finished. That will be a bloody monster !

No chance matey, he is planning on using the same gearbox as me...

0-100 and 1/4's are all about Transmission!

Anyway, Martins 0-100 time is now PONY (I used to think it was almost unbeatable in a normalish road car )

Simon Norris has raised the fooking bar to another level

0-60 in 2.5 0-100 in 5.5 and 200mph on the same gearing without NOS. FOOKING AWESOME Staggering... Martin and Sean have something VERY serious to beat there. AND Simon will pop a 9 sec 1.4 very soon as well

I'm sure our boys will rise to the challenge though

Thanks everybody for all your kind comments. As most people who know me it has been a while getting this engine together. The results have been a lot better than expected, i told Norry i wanted a safe 600bhp engine with good driveability and he produced the goods and more. All the diffs have been built by Tal motorsport and the gearbox is straight cut by Pete Doughty engineering. Big big thanks to Norry, Spence, Simon J and Dave M. P.s. If you are up at Norrys on tuesday Mark i will make the tea with pleasure!!!!! P.P.S. Ranj - won't be long before you join the club!!!!!! thanks again, now my sphincter has finally relaxed

Ranj, will talk to you about diffs when i see you. Lets make sure they hold out with this sort of power before you buy.

Lee, nice to have met you at Bruntingthorpe, sounds like neither of us are not very mechanically minded! Fingers and thumbs and a bit of blood comes to mind!!

Hi rod, whats happening in January?

What were used to control the boost?
And is it possible to just hook up the coil packs to the S.E.C.S unit? or do you need
a CDI unit??

Top job...

we were using a greddy boost controller but the ecu will be used when
installed in the car.

The SECS S8 runs coil pack as standard and only requires an external
ignition amplifier (standard cossie one) to drive the coilpack.
Then rising rate dwell time increases plug voltage with rpm
automatically.
