Default Tyres

I just fitted 2 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's on the front of my escort, but just read someone had issues with the tread coming away/chunks coming off them, also sais they aint much use for continual motorway driving?

I'd of thought he must of just had a bad set or something, anyone had any probs with them?

Is only the dodgy cheap imported one's.
E marked are fine.
I've just fitted another set to rear, last quite well and awesome in the wet.

Thats what I had on mine at 171mph.

I thought the problem was with the GS-D2's anyway.

If it's not established whether these faulty one's are e marked, doesn't mean a lot these bad experiences, as they're not intended to be used here.
As it's fairly well known there has been a problem with a few tyres, and a few tyres have played up, this would suggest the e marked items intended for use here are ok.

I was looking at these on e-bay, they seemed to cheap, 225/40/18's were Ł298 for 4, these must be the dodgy non E marked ones!

They should be alright from my-tyres lads..

Fairly respectable company IMO not some dodgy tout on the bay.

I've got an Escort, with them all round, I do about 40miles motorway driving a day and about 20miles normal road driving a day, and all 4 are fine, I got them off mytyres and they ARE E marked, I've never seen a set from mytyres that are NOT E marked.

quick question. isnt it ilegal to use non E marked tyres in the uk?

in which case it should surely be illegal to sell non E marked tyres in the uk? and therefore if you buy a set that are not E marked an were not told this in the advert you could legally get your money back???
