Default cosworth diff

can anyone tell me how do i find out if i have a 7 inch diff or 7.5 diff.thanks

Measure the diammeter of the driveshaft flange:

100mm = 7"
108mm = 7.5"

Or if it's in the car:

2wd = 7.5"
4x4 = 7"

I thought you just measured across the bit where the big long bolt goes through!!?? i.e. what would be the 'gap' in the beam diff carrier?

the locking tab for the bearing ring is at 2o'clock on a 7" and 4 o'clock on a 7.5",takes 1/10th of a second to tell.

the 7inch has two long bolts that go right through the diff and 7.5 only has one on the bottom the top is two short ones that are threaded into each side
