In my case, Im incredibly unhappy with the surface provided, especially when it takes so little effort to actually provide a decent web forum in the first place, expecially given the thousands of pounds of hosing money involved.

But im happy with many of the people involved in posting on the site, I would personally prefer it if they all just moved to anotherfordforum.com or somewhere else so I can chat to them all there, but they havent, so I return here as its the only place the community as a whole that I have enjoyed being part of exists, so im here cause its here or nothing in terms of talking to those people.

There's a lot of people that have invested time and effort on the forum and on behalf of the forum elswhere, to try and make it a community for Ford Enthusiasts.

Times change and people move on but that doesn't mean we can't be annoyed and make comments on the current situation, or like Lee says, have a view on it! It is after all, the only thing websites like this are for isn't it? Posting comments on issues, having a laugh and trying to get/impart information?

I personally feel sorry for a lot of the people on here who seem to treat it like real life and feel ridiculously hard done by but I feel more sorry for the people who feel they have to comment on the comments and say how sad it all is!

They're the ones that have contributed more to the negative turn on this site more than anything else. The kids who think they're "too cool for skool". They're the ones invariably that troll through 10s of forums posting the same comments on each issue "it's only the internet, get a life" but yet they never see the irony.

I am sorry for the paying members that feel they've been aggrieved and I feel bad for Stu that something he's spent so much time and effort on has been ripped out from underneath him [so to speak].

I don't feel sorry for the Mods though as they're all cunts anyway

If Pet or the new owners had taken our Gold Membership money, done a runner with it and closed down PassionFord, I'd understand why people would moan.... but this hasn't happened and nothing's changed. PF is still here and being used by the same people using the bandwidth someone is providing.... so you haven't been ripped off as PF is still here and you still have the same Gold Member rights!

Just because people have contributed to help PF stay online, it doesn't give them the God given right to demand to know what is happening behind the scenes. If the firm you work for is involved in a takeover, you don't go marching to the owner and demand facts - do you?

I know that if I was in Pet's shoes and seen all the villifying threads written about me, it'd make me all the more stubborn about replying and I'd think 'fuck you lot'.

oh and then reduced it to Ł10 a few weeks later just to stiff us for every penny he could get.

one thing i do wonder about though is ,if your gold membership runs out,do you still get to sell bits in the slae section and go in the mens room etc?cos if no-one is controlling the place how can they stop it?and if they can stop that then surely they can take our money?

From what i am reading lately, i would guess that if any of you used the online autotrader, sold or tried to sell a car, and then the owners sold their successfull site for a million to someone who kept it running as it was, you would all apply for a refund as you had been ripped off yeah?

Trouble is a think ALOT of this would be cleared up by a post from Petrucci or even the new admin if its been transfered over! To explian the plan for this site, and any alterations... like sorting out that pathetic Critical Error! I mean maybe if they have bought the site they might spend a little time fixing it.

So sorry for daring to ask where my money has gone which i had assumed went towards the day to day running of the site.

it may have only of been a tenner but if 1000 other people paid a tenner aswell then thats a lot of money.

Ive NOT asked for a refund!!

I not only paid for this year but next year aswell and would like to know how the new owners intend to run the site going forwards ie will there even still be a membership charge in future.

Did you ever even read the gold membership post? For the past 4 years it has stated CLEARLY that the membership was allow you access to gold only rooms and to be able to sell things. It was also made clear that it was NOT a requirement to use PF. All those features you paid for are still available to you and lets face it, if IB have bought this site they will hardly shut it down will they?!


Just to clarify, STU has never had 1pence of any gold membership money EVER.

Because i sit here and see people complaining who have only paid to get access to sell parts and they still can sell them. Simple as that. The Gold membership topic stopped asking for donations bloody YEARS ago.

As for defending PF, i still have a lot of passion, time and money invested here and, believe it or not, still love the place. Not too hard to understand even for you i wouldnt have thought Phil.
