trailer / towing test
has anyone done one?
i presume it is needed for towing a car on a twin axeled trailer?
just had a quick look on he dvla website and, as with any information about towing weights etc. its pretty vague.
i only passed my test in 06 so its not a freebie with your normal license, 97 was the cut off.
if it makes any difference the towing veicle will more than likley be a disco 2.5 tdi

So if you are towing a trailer and have the later licence then you do need B+E, if it is over 750kg including the trl.
Also bear in mind that you max train is 3.5t plus your 750kg towing on a newer licence.
If you are towing cars you will almost certainly need the +E entitlement.

it cost me £80
you have to tow a box tralier which is wider then the towing vehicle so you have to use mirror extensions.
You have to do :-
Reverse test
brake test
drive around a town for about 40 mins, which will include you pulling over to the side of the rd where safe to do so, with the edge of the trailer over the kerb but the trailer wheels not touching the kerb.
