Something ive thought about since watching something the other day.

Cars are painted by robots. Do they just get painted from bare metal shell or are they prepped?

Like when you have a respray the cars primes, then flatted then top coated etc. So does the primer on the new cars get flatted etc ?

Ive never seen anything on this so just wondering.

Suppose it differs between manufacturers. The new Mondeo gets rubbed down by hand in between coats alright.

Ah right i thought it must be something like that. I know robots are good but to flat paintwork would be a tall order
