Well given Pets stat's thats well over 700bhp per tonne so he's quite right if power can be used the cossie would need circa 1000bhp or a lot of weight saving!

Thanks Paul, but if people don't want to be logical, you just can't force them
Anyway, bikers on here will be here to back me up, it's just a CAR driver's dream, so typical

Deano, your MV is outstanding. IMHO, it's the most beautiful bike ever, just above the 916/996/998. It's the same designer for the MV and the 916, tho, if you knew it

This version is oustanding, must be fookin rare... love the red and black mix up

But on the pic above, exhausts are black That's why i asked pretty sure the red is not standard on exhausts Very nice, indeed

it would take over 1000 bhp to have a little hope in catching a bike (and i mean a 600, not a 1000, would be even worse ) , especially if it's in straight line

quickly summing up : Ducati 996 -> 140 bhp (at WHEEL), 190 kilograms
Cossie -> 400 bhp (not at wheels ), 1390 kilograms.

How come you HOPE catching it ?

Don't get me wrong, i love my stage 3 Escort Cosworth, fookin LOVE it, but this does not allow to have such irrealistic dreams
thats strange.........ive read once that Bruce Read had left a fireblade for dead on the highway. and he has 542bhp at that time. and not 1000bhp.
a 1000bhp skyline will leave every bike for dead.

and since when will a bike go faster in a bend. i thought jeremy clarkson proofed not.

wimwerf, compared what can be compared. Put a GOOD bike driver and a GOOD car driver, one on a 140 bhp bike, the other on a 400 bhp cossie, and the biker would KILL the car driver on any track, hands down.

at the end of the day, it all depends on the driver/rider- a bike MAY be technically faster on paper, but using that advantage 100% on the road is a completely different matter, true?
just get a 996 ( cos they ARE THE BOLLOX! ) and a 500BHP cos so you can enjoy both

Agreed I dont think Visually there is a better looking bike

There are only 300 Senna`s world wide 27 came to the UK and mine is number 289 .

Yeah even the Race cans you get with the bike are still a very bronze colour

Alps pacino -> you see? that's exactly what i meant. I never said they were unbeatable, i said that pretending lashing a 996 on a 400 bhp cossie (or any other 400 bhp car) is totally irrealistic

Especially in straight lines

a non turbo porsche has more torque then a cossie.

there arent non turbo porsches which has more torque then a stage 2 cossie. and a carrera 4s hasnt more torque because it hasnt a turbo.

My Senna cost 2 arms and a leg and it was a second hand bike

ok it only had 500 miles on it and every MV factory fitted carbon fibre option but still I could have bought a MINT Escort Cossie for the same money

Of course they're factual.

We couldn't actually see the bike-hating Clarkson put out a video where he lost now could we..............

ive raced loads of bikes and unless they are mega bikes when they get above about 120 they are crap and overrated, FACT!!!, ive raced a zxr750, sv650, bbr 6, blade, these were real bikes with the rider flat on the tank giving it death and no mistake, you do not need silly power to compete with bikes, as for power to weight and all that, have a look at the likes of westfields / kit cars etc , they have incredible power to weight etc but clarkson had a shootout with one in amongst some real supercars, it got fucked big style even though it had a much better p2w ratio, gearing , wheel size, torque, power etc all are major factors, i agree that it has a lot to do with bottle but the fact remains that they get lashed a lot by cars esp cozzies, in my real life experiance a genuine 350 2wd car will trouble a bike over 120, and as for no car beating a bike round a track petrucci, have a look at clarksons r1 against the porker round the track, one driven byjason plato and the bike by some superbike champ bloke, the bike lost, so

end of!!!

That video was Bollocks

They had Jason Plato driving the Carrera4 and Niall Mackenzie riding an R1

The way Plato was getting well close the bike sliding all over the place I bet the biker thought fuck this its only a Clarkson Video ............. aint worth dying over

Agreed!

................ and why is it that people assume that the biker was giving it full beans too?

the clarkson video is a farce ffs
we have all raced porsche's in our cossies and most of us have won (exept maybee a good driver in a gt2 or 3) so do you really think a porka that will get whooped by most of the cossies on here could really beat a bike that was being ridden properly
and as pet say's v twin 100 cc bike has torque from as low down as 3k and will pull past 170 mph easily .

i would be willing to set up a race with 2 or 3 of my non proffesional rider mates on bikes with less than 1000c against any 3 drivers on this forum in any cossie powered car and put money on the cars coming last ( dry day obviously ) road or track

yeah that's a good idea, i invite ANYONE on here with his 400 bhp Cossie to come here and race me on my 996, WHEREVER he wants.. track, road, corners, straight lines... as long as it's dry, which is always the case in France anyway.

Anyone willing to bet money ?

Well i'm sorry pet, but now you are talking bollox, i was fookin driving my 400BHP escos and was only pushing out 363bhp on the day and I DID fookin lash the duke, he WAS giving it some and i was pushing him along at 150 so FOOK OFF coooont...............you wern't there so you cant comment and say i'm talking bollox or pretending, i'm not a saxo owner claiming to have beat a bike, my car is fookin quick, too quick for me infact and i know what i saw.

do you know what it is, if your name isn't Martin Hadland, Sean Bicknell, Porkie etc etc, you allways get shot down for whatever you say and people say your talking shite

I'm not saying the bike couldn't have beaten the car, i'm saying I (as in me a person in a machine) beat Him (as in a person on a machine) just like grand prix's have different winners, touring cars, rally's........its down to the person on the day

petrucci, had my full bike licence for 11 years , riden ducati, cbr, blade, etc etc so apart from that i have never touched a bike in my life

im talking from personal experience, the thing what people get forgetfull about is how much faster a bike feels rather than is!!! up against a fast car is where the reality meets fiction.

pet my car out accelerates a 600 in a straight line no probs (cbr&gsxr) ive raced both m8 ask stu he nearley witnessed a race with a blade while mapping so he put the limiter to 4k so i couldnt

yeah Gus, but we are speaking of a 900 cc twin with LOTS of torque here , not a 600 which needs pushing hard to have power

you need to get off your high horse and re read the posts twat ..
no one has said you didnt beat him !! but we have all said if the bike was being ridden by a proper rider and he was really trying you would have lost . its as simple as that . well done in your race anyway
