I do think PEPE has a gash ally roof mount spoiler now though!

That was nobbie with the Yellow one, and yeah it was the first nova that got 5 studded, I blatantly copied the concept on my car, getting a bit common (mainly on astras) these days after people saw us both with it.

Cool rims on a nova, and obviously a rare site due to the hassle involved to fit them.

Chip,
In case you're generalising and including Creative Carbon's Cossie stuff in your sweeping statement of excluding the stuff us Ford people buy from being the same F1 spec / quality, I would just like to point out Marcus's items are all made using the same processes as the F1 spec stuff (as in pre-preg vacuum formed in an autoclave) - he also does these . The only difference will be the number of layers (as a splitter or heat-shield doesn't need to support quite the amount of weight .

Having seen both (well in fact ive bought some bits off you, so not just seen, but held and cut into for my strut brace ) all I can say is if there F1 stuff is exactly the same process as their cossie parts, I can guarentee Toyota dont buy bits from them, cause the bits on the F1 car in reception looks nothing like the bits on my cossie
So no wonder they only do arrows

As I said, the process is the same - it's properly formed, not wet laid .

Your bits are NOT up to F1 standards, not even close, you are wrong if you think they are, the bits on this nova though ARE.

Thats not to say creative carbon cant do it, possibly they can, but it wouldnt be economically viable to finnish to the same standard to sell for 150-200 quid to a bunch of cossie owners.

The bonnet is a bit too random for my liking, but the engine bay looks awesome in real life, the standard of it would put most custom bikes to shame.

Obviously I can't comment on what he has produced, as I haven't seen it, but by the sounds of it, they would both be made using the exact same process, only the number of layers, the type of carbon being used (4 x 2 or 2 x 2) and the finish (gloss or satin) would be different. The process - preg-preg vacuum formed - would be the same.

That must be about a year before I saw him last, been AGES.

Would love to know what is happening with the car now, we'll have to try and track him down

Phils is certainly much better value, you could buy several of phil's merc for what you would need to spend to build another nova to the same spec as Pepe
Selling his car wouldnt even fund the engine alone

That cause you simply dont understand the engineering involved, or what a car like that feels like on track.

Nothing you have ever owned could get anywhere vaguely near it on a track, so to people who are interested in trackdays its appealing, for driving around on the road slowly, its utterly pointless, its a tool built to do a specific job, which means it has 50% in common with you if my maths is correct

Should imagine the spoiler is needed for downforce.
Its an F1 item too IIRC though, so might just be cause Grom likes F1 bits

Windows are perspex, I think there is just a lot of dust on them in those pics, lol

Im unsure on that sadly Mike, but I will find out.

I assume you unlike phil and the people going on about wether they like the spoiler's looks and totally missing the point of the car are capable of seeing the potential of something like this?

Id love to see it in time attack, people just wouldnt be able to understand what was happening

He's a petrol head in general, and when you are a petrol head from the 80's its hard not to have a bit of a love affair with the XE I guess

His evo was some insane spec too.

i love race cars track cars but that nova is fucking horrible i just dont get the point of air brushing and the shit colour on a nova.the engine and other stuff on it may be cool but after all that money why noy just keep it in the touring car that although is alot heavier im sure is a better proving ground for racing as that nova by the looks of things has never been out so whats the point in it i dont know?just a big waste of money................

No different to people who like Martin's escort or Rod's sierra I guess

If you are into vauxhall hatchbacks this is the ultimate in the same way if you are into ford escorts Martin's is.

Small minded of you to think that someone who is appreciative of awesome custom engineering is "ass licking" IMHO, you are presumabley just not "into" cars enough to understand what they are getting so excited about!

I'd be the same if it was about knitting or whatever it is you are into, I wouldnt know the good from the bad, so would think everyone was arse licking when they went on about how wonderful a pair of furry mittens were.

must be eh

i'd like to see the day a XR2 was or is built to anywhere near the same spec

The reason i choose a XR2 is that it a car of the same era and fords attempt at a small Hot hatch

It'll be out on track when its finished I guess mate, like any car built over a period of time, as for why to put it in a nova, cause the power to weight ratio and cornering ability will be better in a lighter car, so ultimately its going to be FAR quicker (in the right hands of course!) round a track than any touring car ever can be, as they have weight limits to apply to and limits on what they can do with the clyinder head etc.

The airbrushing is there for the simple reason Grom loves airbrushing.
And TBH I suspect he couldnt really give a fuck what people who dont understand the car think of stuff like that anyhow, its his car and only
need to please him really.

Same as Simon Norris with the airbrushing on his evo I guess, personally I wouldnt want it, but thats not what I focus on when I look at the car, the engineering is.

I just thought people would enjoy the engineering of it, wasnt really posting it up asking if people though it was a nice colour to paint my radiators etc

If you dont like it, thats not a problem, but I dont really see much point going on about it.

Im not on the defensive, im merely passionate about well engineered cars, so im trying to encourage others to enjoy that too.

Much like a lover of fine arts might try and encourage you not to worry too much about the light fitting above a picasso and concentrate on the picture itself
