You can get portable ceramic car heaters, weight nothing plug into your cig lighter and wil be more than enough to warm your feet. Mainly used in places in the world where it gets really cold and you can't wait all day for the engine to get up to temp so the car will start heating up. You could use one / two of those allowing you to bin the whole heater assembly

Will these plug in things stay put as I am hurtleing around a race track, mind you I have to say the bloody floorpan where the exhaust is and the whole gearbox tunnel are like a bloody furnace, to the extent that all of the seam sealer on the inside of the drivers footwell melted off!!! so perhaps my feet being cold aint an issue.
I did take the heater box out though and it is pretty small and very light, plus I like to have a bit of wind in my hair!!!!

They are normally just stuck to peoples dashes or clip onto the sunvisor, so would prob come flying off when you go zooming around , still I'm sure you could make a special 'zoo braket' for them and add it to your products .
I've not had a chance to handle a escort heater box so I'm not sure of its weight, but the sierras is pretty heavy for what it is. These cermaic heaters are tiny http://www.brandsonsale.com/alcltovi.html http://shop.store.yahoo.com/dotcoms/copo12vocehe.html
