the perspex windows with the wee square window bit that opens on the doors, can they be locked shut from inside to stop people opening them from the outside??

I'm sure there is a way but I doubt it'll ever be secure.

I have the sliders on mine and yes it would bother me if I left it anywhere. Hence I don't now.

But think how hot it will get in the car if you don't have sliders as you obviously will be removing all the electric windows or winding mechanisms.

Trust me it gets a bit warm in the car if you do track days

You'll just have to weigh it up. Whether you will end up leaving the car anywhere or to go for the windows with non sliders. That's if you haven't already bought them. The sliders rattle like fuck if you don't secure them

Normall have a pin or bolt on them to stop them rattling on motorway journeys etc, but not design for security at all.

The windows that I got had a pin lock to hold the sliders in place. They were very poor and kept rattling out and then the sliders would slowly open as you drove along.

I plan to use a strip of velcro to secure them shut. This is not a security measure but just to stop the bloody things opening when they feel like it.

When I made some sliders for my 205 I drilled holes rather than cut a square out.

Same idea but slightly more secure!

i didnt fancy the sliders for the reasons cliff mentions


im just gonna drill holes in the windo if its too hot

Make your own.. cost me about £11 to do mine.

Bit of perspex and some bolts.. and if you think Ahh thats a bit pikey good old Shings.. Karl Norris' brother did exactly the same on his Sunbeam Cossie... HE told me to do it myself.

are they not called polycarbonate windows or something made from stuff allot stronger then perspex & dont scratch as easy?

chicken used perspex on his and they looked terrible after a while, scatched to bits

he has now put the original glass back in until he gets polycarbonate ones

said this before, polycarb scratches like mad also, just the nature of plastic. Difference is perspex/acrylic can be buffed to get rid of them, polycarb is not so easy.

I made up a piece of perspex that i drop into the channel. It stops you being able to slide the slider back from outside.

When the slider is open I obviously have to take it out so I drop it in front of the slider meaning the gap stays open under heavy braking.

Hope the above makes sense but simple solution that costs about 0.003p
