Default decisions decisions??

right ive sold my nova as it was a bit jonny rotten but now ive been offerd 2 cars that im quite interested in for a daily runner

1st is a mk3 escort estate 3 dr,1600 cvh, white very good condition with long t&t & a few small mods, my plan is to use it to tow my escort track car next year by putting a 2.0l zetec in it & a set of 17'' 7 spokes or escort cossie alloys i have lying to tidy it up

2nd is a mk3 xr3, red in very good condition, long t&t, bog standard, but i have a complete s1 rs turbo engine sitting doing nothing & the above alloys so it would look pretty smart for an evey day car & the go of a turbo

the estate is 300 miles away & the xr3 is 10 miles away

what would you go for? both are the same price aswell

i see what your saying but i cant tow a car with it plus an escort estate is just as rare & would look awesome with a mk3 escort on a trailer behind it

If you want an everyday runner those two are not an option mate....

weight wise i think there too small to legally tow a escort on a trailer .

You know you will tempted to spend money converting one thing or another....

an every day runner to me is a car you buy, service, tax and mot nothing else.....

I see another project looming mate

ive seen plenty mondeo's towing cars on trailers no bother & an escort estate is about the same size, so would handle it no bother i would have thaught

i see what your saying m4dyeti but i dont need a car for work as i work off shore so it would just be something to have a bit of fun & bolt stuff on i have lying around in untill next year then sell on & make a wee profit

i use my brothers focus for propper journeys

well i guess the guys in the mondoes are not within the law either mate, your estate will not be heavy enough to tow a car of similar size with a trailer, go on the dvla web site mate and check the regs

go and see the xr3 as its only a few miles away, if its good, buy it! if not, then prepare to travel 300 miles, and possibly be disappointed (again!) dont get your hopes up, most of these old cars are proper shitters now
