i bought a second hand lcd tv a few weeks ago (for my bedroom).it is only 2 years old (goodmans)
i cant turn it on.power pack has the led lit showing power,tv has a red light at the front showing power there.when i press the on button (on tv remote or the tv itself) the red light turns green then after about a second goes back to red .

Probably jsut a PSU issue, shouldn't be too hard to fix. Find a local repairer who do insurance and warrenty work for the big companies (one near me is a listed agent for the likes of Sony, Aiwa, JVC etc) as that way you know they will do a good job. DOn't bother with big companies like Comet, Curr's etc as they will just try and sell you a new one telling you yours can't be fixed as they get a better margin from a sale than a repair......

some have an internal fuse as well that can pop

the other thing to think about is the humidity

it's been known that you can get lots of mosture and condensation inside the units if you bring them in from outside and they need to be left to adjust to the temps or the water will fry the electrics

never heard of anyone having done this in the past but i've never taken the risk myself
