Jeremy Clarkson for Transport Minister
I signed this online petition a while ago and got an email reply from 10 Downing Street today:
Details of Petition:
"We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to appoint Jeremy Clarkson as the minister for transport."
"I believe Jeremy Clarkson the BBC Top Gear presenter along with his vast knowledge of motoring and publicy supported transport initiatives would make an ideal candidate for the Minister of Transport. His expertise would go a long way to solving recent congestion issues and therefore would make a Britains transport network the envy of the world."
The Government's response:
The Government recognises Mr Clarkson's expertise on certain aspects of the transport sector. His views are, of course, welcome and help to inform the wider debate on transport.
The Government has long recognised that it needs to listen to the views of those that use the transport system and this was reiterated in our recent document "Towards a Sustainable Transport System" (available at www.dft.gsi.gov.uk). Over the coming months we will consult a wide range of transport passengers and users, including motorists, affected communities, businesses, and those concerned with social justice and the future of the planet. Our aim is to move towards a sustainable transport system that works for everyone, that supports our economy, and plays its part in combating climate change.
So that will be a "no", then?

if i were transport minister i'd be making sure that there wern't roadworks in febuary and march so the councils used up all their allocation and also make sure that the mney taken in tax from the motorist was used for the roads only, and then get some other fookers to find the money to build more police stations and churchs and shit
