my mates got a 156 alfa romeo key needs sorting

the button that opens and locks the doors doesn't seem to be there but the one that opens the boot works

is is possible to just ket the key bits and swap the interanls over or will it need a new key?

it's a bit desperate as he's had his other key run over and wants this one to work just in case he needs it

Hi mate i worked on fiat and alfa for 6 years. I take it its the black key and u press the chrome button and the key swings round. If so you need a new key. The buttons always stick in its a common fault on them. You will also have to get the key programed in by a main dealer to.

When the key gets programed in there is 2 codes 1 is a 5 digit code for the imobilizer and if i remember there is a 7 digit code for the central locking. Without the key the car wont start and the remote central locking wont work. The key will go in the locks though.
