unnatural talent Way less than a second behind the stigs time.

I don't think its 3 seconds if you can drive, he cut some corners etc. I reckon a second quicker than the stig maybe, but look at the other none racers time's compared to the stigs, do you reckon he just put that lap in? Or did 50 laps before hand?

top gear reckon it's 4 seconds a lap wet/dry but webber asid that it wasn't anywhere near that

still, it's an impressive time but i'm sure there might have been some tom foolery going on behind the scenes, if it's the same as it's always been for the earlier car, they get unlimited amounts of laps (within reason) and they pick the fastest one from the lot, unlike the new car where you get 5 practice laps and then your timed lap

either way, it's a cracking time, if he hadn't of spun away from teh line so much i reckon he owuld have had it in the bag

This is what i mean with my earlier point.

I also thought this about the car leaving the line slowly, this is probably the main place he gained time. But the car's that slow, maybe its just as quick to let it spin, rather than have it bog down.

It was very fast, he might be over a second quicker than every1 else and the stig. But the stig shouldn't be at the top of the board now, he's not as good as the f1 driver's otherwise he would be in an F1 car.

I'd like to see a touring car driver go around

Notice that Lewis was wearing his racing suit in the Liana, all those people who were wondering if they should wear one on a track day.

the program is a fix. the stig is a racng driver.. in reality on a dry lap lewis maybe 0.5 secs quicker. Not near enough the same from wet/dry, that aint going to happen. Lewis aint that quick.. 2 Fastest Laps all year compared to Kimi's 7 i think.

thats a bollox comment mate.. i know of dozens of racing drivers who comprehensily ANNIHILATED Hamilton in karting.. BUT they didnt have millions of pounds and support for ten years..

Just because lewis is in F1 does not make him the best in the world....

Lewis has taken ages mate. 6 years since leaving karting to F1, thats an eternity... he first drove a maclaren in 2004... wasnt deemed ready tho..

Please read it again mate, i'm not saying hamilton is good, I'm saying who are you comparing him to, my other comment (on here might have been a different topic) I pointed out how "close" a bird that goes around the world in a boat and probably rarely even drives a car was to them.

Hence me saying get some touring car or rally driver's in there to show him who's boss or if they don't beat him, maybe he is good.

Afterall, look at everything else top gear fix's maybe they lie a little sometimes.

Now stop spitting the dummy out because your Avatar's been removed

the thing is, the stig's have been around the track countless number of times which is why there is such an inconsistantcy of times both dry and wet
i'd have loved to see what times the beemer put down compared to what stig's time in the same car was

what you are all forgetting as well is that, for all the hype, lewis was number 2 last year at the pinnicale of motorsport so he's bound to be quicker than soemone who's used to driving slower machinery
just look at what they put hammond through

what they should do is, come the british grand prix, get all the f1 drivers together and let them go at it in the liana throughout the day on the monday after the race and then we'll find out who was the quickest

and make sure that the teams all bring along n indipedant adjudicator to make sure the timing equipemnt is correct and set up properly etc so there can be no discrapancies between the times

shit, they might as wll bring out 22 liana's just for the sake of it

what wound me up last night with TG, is comparing the vxr8 to the M5, then racing it against a 530i

the M5 would Annihilate the vxr8

The purpose of the test was to compare what you could buy for the SAME money as the VXR, not £35k more!! Think you missed the WHOLE point of the test there mate. Wouldn't say the M5 would annihilate it either!

WTF they were comparing the VXR and M5 saying they were aimed at the same sort of customer, someone wanting a large family rapid four door saloon.

When they raced the 530i against it, it was because they cost roughly the same price, unlike the M5 which cost nearly twice as much!

That wasn't the point of the drag race though was it. It was done on price. The VXR8 was competing against cars of similar value
