Any 9 seconds passes??

 

Andy Barnes in the Sumo R34 ran quite a few high 9 second passes, very impressive

a couple of mates said there was a few 9 sec passes mate, but was alot of 'normal' cars there. was meant to be some proper weapons there today by what people were sayin but my mate wasnt too impressed by it all!!

 

i think sumo was the only one in the nines..plenty in the tens though..but i could be wrong

 

a hell of alot of tens, the Ford camp has some catching up to do!

 

1 semi final was andy barnes(sumo power r34) vs rocket ronnie
andy won this with a 9.6 v's 10.3 (Ronnie's best of day).


final was rk tunings red r32 vs andy barnes
andy won with a 9.75 @ 146 mph. something went bang on the rk car just after he launched it

 

Norris ran a 10.3 i think and the RC 900bhp evo didnt show

 

there was also a tiger striped saph there that said 'waste disposal unit' or something like that on the back (was this featured in max power years ago cos it looked familiar)???

i saw it go once and it broke something on the transmission!

 

Was that cossie engined fiesta there that steve was on about??

The jap boys have got the 1/4 mile stuff sorted. That sumo cars wicked.

 

I couldn't stop wheelspinning! But I did 3x 14.2 runs which is good for consistency! if nothing else, terminals of 112mph though!

Saw the top-fuel car run a 5.3 @ 250+ mph at the start, and he let off before the end because he was drifting towards the wall......mental car, even beat FireForce2 (which managed to break one of the plastic windows in the commentating box, on its last run )!

Also saw that Saph Cossie "break", and watched the bits that flew off it roll up the track past it, as it coasted to a halt against the side-wall. Oops

Andy Barnes' R34 was running very nicely today, despite the fact it didn't "look" that fast (very smooth power-delivery, compared to Ron Kiddell's slow build-up then an insane kick as the turbo finished spooling up).

The TRD Supra (K1000 HP) also wasn't there, although there was a pretty mad Mini-conversion with an MR2-engine that was wheely'ing off the line!

 

Was a good and all went very well with Andy's car

I did see you Ish but was unable to come and chat at the time, sorry. Also I see Porkie but I was just heading to the start line so again couldn't say hello.

well whatever hauser did it helped turn it from a 10 sec car to a 9 sec car
