With my recent redundancy from IT team leader @ NEC (Cheers frog< no not his fault, he got me the job), I'm looking to get something else. Have looked locally but all jobs round here only pay about 15k-20k which isnt much use to me.

Looking for something that pays decent for the hours you do, as well as the opportunity for progression.

Have got networking skills to the point of whole infrastructure changes, desktop admin, website design/admin/development as well as management qualifications.

Long shot, but thought I'd ask on here, you never know!

Try ATOS Origin. They just won a Ł500m 7 year government contract and are hiring. Think its based in Andover in Wiltshire and Birmingham, possibly also central London.

One option is to go contracting, take a look at jobserve.com and monster.co.uk enter your skills and see whats about, would expect there will be plenty of jobs for you, but you may have to be willing to travel a bit until something comes up close to home.

If you do go down this route you will need to set up a company and business account, all easy stuff, but you need to get it sorted before you start

I am based in West Midlands, and I dont have any formal qualifications such as CCNA CCNP MCSE, but I *have* thought about doing one of the courses.

I only really have "hands on" based work, which is better in most qualifications that having a MCSE.

JonnyB, I have done BITS on clustering, have worked on raid arrays, and as for the tapes thing, I know bits, although I understand its fairly easy to implement.

I have built servers before, in effect all they are is a glorified PC running a server O/S.

Well, a BIG BIG BIG thank you to EssexBoyRacer for taking the time to say they were struggling and looking for more support engineers.

So, I took the time to travel to Reading for an interview.

After the interview and a few short questions I had to answer via email, IVE BEEN OFFERED THE JOB!!!
