Princess 4 pot calipers, your comments
Been telling a mate tonight about how Princess 4 pots were the dogs bollocks in the 80s and 90s. Who's used or using them???

My 100E has them fitted, infact mine are actually the very rare turbo tecnics versions as fitted by them on some of their TT capri conversions.
the only difference with them compared to a princess caliper is they have had the galleries internally drilled so only one external pipe is needed.
as for how they work, yes there heavy but they stop my car far far better than the old m16 vented efforts that were on there..
they are getting rare now and go for good money on ebay..

Have them on my Escort,with modified 2wd Cossie dics's on alloy bells.Very very good on my car,but it is very light.Been reliaable for the past 10 yrs or so,but Im thinking of changing to 2WD Cossie 4 pots and disc's.Regards,Micky

I thought 2wd cossie four pots were rubbish when they were on my rst - just never got any good pedal feel. I got on better with my princess 4 pots on bigger discs.
Might just have been the set I had.

I've got some to go on my escort, as said, they weigh a ton, but are supposed to be pretty good.
however, since wilwood appear to have sorted the flexing prolems they were previously know for i'll probably get shot of them and go for the wilwoods instead.
Alex - people probably still use them as they're a cheap, easy and effective brake upgrade for older escorts etc from the m16 (i think that's the name of the standard caliper anyway) ones.. spaces and the other bits you need are readily available from loads of suppliers.

Now, thanks to your post of 16 year ago, now i know. Might have a bash at replacing them, rather than shelling out £200 for new reproduced alloy items with several pipes by the looks of it. Unless someone knows better?

I refurbed mine with new pistons and seals at the time i'm sure they will still be available
I've still got them on my car and they still work fine in fact I haven't actually touched them sine that post all thos years ago, the same brake pads are still in lol
