Default VIDEO CAMCORDER

GOING TO BUY THE MRS A CAMCORDER FOR CHRISTMAS. HAS ANYONE ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS ON WHICH BRAND OR MODEL TO GO FOR? I DON'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT THEM TBH. WANT TO SPEND ROUGHLY £400.

sony for me

plenty of options for £400. i would go with a HDD based one rather than miniDV tapes, and perhaps widescreen if you can get it in your price range
