Default Tap locks

May sound odd but can you get locks of some sort for outside taps?

got the cheeky fooker from next door who keeps using my outside tap when im not around

think ive heard of caps that you can padlock over a tap to stop it being used, am i dreaming or has anyone else ever heard of these...
any idea where to find/source one from?

Ta.

Cheers Rad

my house is a converted victorian house into 3 flats, the gravel courtyard for parking is right outside my kitchen window, so for ease ive had an outside tap fitted for when cleaning the car etc!

ive asked him before to not use it unless hes going to pay towards my water bills but he swears he doesnt use it, also with me working away the misses says he cleans his car most weekends from our tap and again when im home and ask him he says im being stupid as he doesnt use it.

apart from being close to loosing my temper with him, ive agree'd with her that ill see if theres another way to stop him using it first.

get the plumber to put an inside valve in so you can turn it off from inside.

then rig up a CCTV camera to catch the disapointed look on his face when he realises no water comes out after he's got set up..

Or set up some temp feed to it with some diluted brake fluid in so when he washes his car with it you'll be sure to know...

The inside valve is a good idea because it will protect the outside pipework from frost as well as screw him up!

it'll be cheaper to put a stop cock inside, that way you'll know it's either on or off
