hows this work then , i took my actuater arm off today as i was raising the boost to 1 bar from 0.8, and dident put the circlip back in to hold the arm in, anyway went for a test drive and pushed just under a bar then after stopping at some lights put my foot down and noticed hardly any boost so thought the arms come off, looked under the bonnet and sure enuff it was off, but how come i can still dump and get about 0.2 to about 0.4 with no arm on?

even with the wastegate penny open there will still be a small amount of exhaust gas pushed through the turbine.
