how to find the code for a wireless router?cant remember it?

how to find the code for a wireless router?cant remember it?
my birds had the lnternet wireless for a couple of months and i keep reading about people running their psp's off them . so i tried last nite with my son but i just couldnt do it ?
first problem is i cant find the password for it ? second thing is , is there a way of changing it to being "unlocked" ? its a netgear one that came from sky . a Sky16755 i think .
the psp picks up the unit and then i select it . it then asks what security so i opt for None . but it dont work so i change the option to the same as the router has , Wep i think , and then i need the code . is there a way of generating the code for the unit ????
also the psp picks up some one with WPA security ? whats that . does it mean its locked aswell ?

i will have a look on the base . whats that thing link Nuts ? i will try it later at my birds . do i just click on it when im at hers ??

not on the bottom of the thingy . the babysitter was using the laptop when i ot there , and i was staving so we just went straight out to the pub for dinner. had a bloody nice brownie
