I cant hide my dissapointment today... Sorry.
For the last few months, a lot of people on here have had moans and digs and complaints in many different topics on this forum about not only how this place is run, but also abbout its speed and reliability.
Pet has been working on one issue and another for quite a while now and between us we decided before jumping to Vbulletin we would give the latest RC7 of Olympus a try, so he spent considerable time setting it up and getting it running, and we sent a mass mail out asking peopole to jump on and load it up so we can test it, and what happens?
We get 11 people MAX all night. Yet there was an obvious topic asking for your help on page 1 all night.

And the majority of the night we had over 700 people online.
Dissapointing. If you cant help us to help you, then we will just go back to getting on with other things which are obviously more important.

but like stu asks for a positive contribution and help and what fuck all 
and people say its just the internet ! well it seems real life to me like arsehole u meet want stuff done them ask something back and fuck all

Look at it another way.
1. You restrict what non gold members can see / play with here.
2. Then post up saying "help - test this other thing for me"
What do you think will happen when people are pissed off with this site for whatever reason?

When I last visited PF at 7.57pm last night, I tried a couple of times to login to the Beta forum but was unable to.
I'm rarely online after 7pm - 8pm ish every night.
Stu how about closing down PF for a few hours tonight and leave a redirection message.... to login to the Beta forum?

I saw the post when I could finally log on last night. Was getting loads of errors. I didn't have time to have a look, but would have over the weekend if it was kept up for a few days. Prob a good idea to leave the link up so people have a chance to.
Re: the moaning, I do feel people are far more liable to moan when they are charged for something and feel they are not getting it. Last night I was pretty pissed off to find I couldn't log on, again, to look at posts I needed to look at. I also feel that sometimes you get a bit too angry at people formoaning when perhaps you should hold your hands up and say "fair enough, its broken we will try and fix it". Nothing personal but you must know that if you show yourself as being wound up by peoples comments on here they will only do it more, everyone on PF seems to love a reaction!
For the record I think its a awful idea to not allow non registered users to even view the forum. Its the best way of generting interest. I tend to go elsewhere if I have to register to a forum just to see what its like, sure I ain't the only one.
Sorry if any of the above annoys, sure its been covered on other threads, but I ain't got time to read them all!

I would have loved to try the beta site, but:
a/ I accidentally deleted the email (can i have it again please)
b/ we had a power cut from about 6.30pm through to nearly 11pm due to some numpty leaving a distribution box open @ the local sub. whilst it rained and soaking the breakers 
so the computer was dead anyway

You seem to be missunderstanding me peeps. I am complaining about the 700+ who WERE HERE until gone midnight, and DIDNT bother. Not people who genuinely couldnt / cant / etc.
As for your comments Mr Palmer. There are plenty of other chat rooms on the web, and you will find that more PF members are HAPPY that we got rid of the free muppet room than there are members ANNOYED.
Feel free to do a Poll. I will wager Ł50 on it now before youve even started it.

i got on once,but when i tried again i couldnt get on.then when i tried to get on to the old pf,i couldnt get on that either!

Maybe Gold people just couldn't be bothered then? I was just trying to find some sort of explaination for you.

is people like me, that browse a lot, and dont complain when it's not working (after all it's only a forum)
dont really care what it looks like
the people that moan, will moan for what ever reason
they even moaned about the colours , and speed (even though you posted saying pet is working on it in the background)
it just goes to show, either they cant read (ironic as it's a car forum ) or they just want to moan at anything

I had a look around last night for about 5 minutes, did you want people just to stay logged in for an evening then or post and stuff? as I would imagine most folks were on here reading stuff they were already interested in, when I looked there was half a page of threads from 2004

We went on and left a few comments about the site didnt we? if you wanted the site filled why didnt you say "EVERYBODY log in please" im sure you would have got a better response if you made it sound more important kinda thing, i for one felt it didnt really matter because there would be plenty of other people going on, looks like i was wrong then
