Default Coil Pack Peeps...

Where have you mounted your coil packs guys?
Are they liable to get heat soaked if they are placed too near to the header tank, and start to cause missfires etc???

Going to give MSD a bell tomorrow to get the car booked in ASAP, but i'm just working out if this is the route of my problems - (car started to miss after sitting in traffic for roughly an hour and half yesterday morning - yet once cooled down was fine )

Cheers

dont think the coilpack would heatsoak much at all, unless it has direct contact with the header tank, and even then its going to be small amounts.

what plugs are you running? maybe this is the cause?

sure its just something simple.

pPug I think are oc57's mate - can't remember off the top of my head..
They're the 10 quid jobbies from MSD that Stu recommened will be fine with the coil-pack as long as they are replaced regularly - and as the car has done all of 350 miles since being converted I hope they'd be ok? - but worth changing anyhow I guess....??

Lots of people copy the WRC cars and mount them under the plastic cover
under the windcreen where the heater motor sits.

I WOULDNT RECOMEND THIS as it gets very wet there
