The thing to remember is that aeroplanes are FRAGILE!
To ever get the thing off the ground they have to be really lightweight and they arent designed to crash.
It probably wasnt moving that fast or hard. It would have just fallen to bits on impact.
(I worked on Jumbo's for a bit pre 9/11 when I had a proper job!)

This only happened Thursday I'm told.
It was on the final handover test, so I guess being run by Etihad people, so they are not sure even who will foot the bill
Apparently the brakes will not even begin to hold this at full chat.
There were I think 6/7 people on board, clearly not paying attention LOL. When it's being run like that the vibration and movement in the cabin is quite bad, probably why they didn't notice it moving?
There were a few injuries, not surprising, but apparently not kept in hospital bad.

The plane was due to be delivered very shortly, so it was painted in their colors, but they had not yet taken delivery.
The test crew just (somehow) got it VERY wrong.

Problem is on the new airbuses, the parking brake selector holds the brakes at a lower pressure than standings on the pegs themselves - so all engine runs have to be carried out with a bloke on the brakes.
Quiet what happened will be revealed soon, whether it was a BSCU or brake pack failure, or simply (and more probably - human error).
I think it will change the attitudes of a few people regarding strapping in during engine runs, I must admit during all the runs I've been involved in (737 and A320) we have never bothered
Also, the aircraft are never chocked when we do them....on the brakes only.
Hope the guys make a full recovery soon

Made a change from the usual transport
