Imagine if you hadn't been on for a few days....
That would take a while to trawl through.

Um..where where we originally...
Not long home from work & re-reading what we were discussing...

Ah yes. Moving all topics after 24hrs may not be long enough for everyone to catch it before it gets moved to the correct forum.
It could be something that you'd see ordinarily by looking through a few days worth of GD but once it's been moved then you might not visit that forum at all and potentially miss out on some good info or a good thread.

Suggested on the other thread a longer period of stay in GD for 'hot' topics until they peter out or stop getting replies, then archive them for the future in the relevant forum.

Ah, sorry, ok, i see where you are going there, and whilst i tend to agree its a good idea, i wonder where we would draw the line?

24hrs unless it's still getting lots of replies/ views in that time: still a relevant hot topic. Then extend another 24 and look at it again ??

Just an idea..but as I said before it will make slightly more work for mods..but if a thread dies then it will soon fall past page 4/5 with no replies within a couple of days, so that could also be used as a limit factor.

Upon reviewing the situation, i discovered that approximately 80% of its regulars are NON Contributors and therefore are slowing down the site for paying members. This had to stop, its NOT a free chat forum. Its a car forum. Sorry.

fair comment, the only reason I didnt re-new my membership was due to "critical errors"

Will renew my membership asap...

question though, When will I be able to view all of my View your posts

I can only search 1 page and its properly annoying!

Cheers
